Ink Attic Tattoo Steve
Aric Von, a single dad (and lovin’ it) was born in Richland Hills, Texas 09-25-1972. At 6 years of age, Aric’s uncle Ronnie showed him a few things and he immediately showed promise as an artist. He later received one on one painting lessons from his grandmother who taught him oil and acrylic. He has experience with airbrushing, layout and design via Jeff Long, special effects sculpture and design via Fangoria magazine.

Aric is a straight shooter. His other interests include all types of sculpture in all mediums, he plays guitar, drums, likes toys, and building choppers.

Von prefers more dark than light. His style involves adapting and creating what is in a person’s mind, which often times results in a number of different styles. He received his first tattoo, on his right shoulder, at the age of 15 from his dad (after bugging the shit out of him) and got his first machine at 16. He’s in his mid 30’s now with almost 20 years of inking experience.

His dream is to one day utilize his talents in film. “Set design fascinates me. I think the ‘fake ‘em out’ factor is what intrigues me most.”

Personal thoughts:
“Society is scared to express itself, scared of what people think. Most dedicated art collectors I know don’t give a shit about what they think. Lots of folks love their ink because it’s a way for them to express an inner belief or thought that will never change. Others hate ‘em cause they can’t afford ‘em!”

Advice for someone getting inked for the first time:
“It don’t wash off so don’t settle for what ever amount of money you happen to have at the time. Your best bet is to wait and get what you want.”

Musical and artistic influences include VanZandt band, Lynard Skynard, Turner Scott Vanblarkum of Pumpn Ethyl. Turner made some bone sculptures for the bands Metallica and Ministry.

Worth mentioning:
“I did temporary tattoos on Walker Texas Ranger set makin candy ass actors appear hard.” Aric’s heros include: Family and God, The god of thunder and rock-n-roll!
